Hubballi (Hubali)

Hubballi (Formerly known as ' Hubali ' ) is situated about 20 km south-east of Dharwad, is the commercial centre and business hub. Cotton and peanuts (called groundnuts locally) are grown aplenty in the surrounding areas, and Hubballi is a major trading center for both commodities. Sea food from Karwar, a coastal town 165 km away, is packed and shipped from Hubballi. It is also an important city for the Indian Railways, being the headquarters for South Western Railway Zone and the Hubballi Division.

The twin cities of Hubballi-Dharwad are located at a distance of around 420 KM north-west of Bengaluru, the capital of Karnataka state and 550 KM south-east of Mumbai. The city of Dharwad is just east of the famous Western Ghats and is surrounded by hills and lakes. Dharwad district (before Re-organization of 1997) covers an area of 13738 sq. KM and with a twin city population of about 7,86,000 (according to 2001 census). The city of Dharwad is the district head quarters.

I am a frequent traveller of Hubli to Hyderabad by AC Sleeper. In old bus stand, You are provided one rest room for AC Passengers, it is very much helpful, for that I am so happy, but regarding maintenance of that I would like to say some thing. I am staying near Karwar, to catch my bus, Sir, you know I want to come at least 1 hr before, in that rest room, AC not working, they are not allowed to eat any thing and there is no wash room facility. And mainly opening too late, if any passenger came before 1800hrs, they may stay out side up to open. Sir, this not any complaint, think as a request and please see for proper maintenance. And also provide some drinking water and wash room facility.

I like the Hotel rooms, they have got a wonderful view of a lake. The atmosphere is quite peaceful, I had a very good time with my friends and also love the food.
